The Studio and the Space to Grow
Moving into this new studio has been a turning point. It’s more than just a place to paint; it’s a place to breathe again. For years I worked out of small corners, basements, and spare rooms. I made it work, but it always felt like trying to grow roots through concrete.
Now there’s space to build, to step back from a canvas, to make a mess without worrying about the floor. It’s changed how I work and how I think. Having a dedicated space makes the process feel real, like the work finally has permission to exist outside my head.
If you’re an artist still working from home, I get it. I did it for a long time. But if you ever get the chance, even a small shared studio or a rented garage, do it. Invest in yourself. Give your art a place to live. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just yours.
This studio is where I’m rebuilding, painting, sculpting, and figuring things out piece by piece. It’s the start of a new chapter.
